Please be advised that pursuant to Section 51 (2) b) of Act XLVI of 2008 on the Food Chain and its Official Control (Food Chain Act), no compensation shall be payable if the livestock keeper or food business operator fails to report a suspected animal disease or breaches the prescribed obligations.
Under Section 18 (1) f) of the Food Chain Act, livestock keepers are obliged to notify the food chain safety authority or the attending veterinarian immediately of any animal disease or suspicion thereof, to have the sick or suspected animal examined, and, in the event of an epidemic animal disease, to implement the measures prescribed by the authority or veterinarian.
Furthermore, pursuant to Section 18 (1) h) of the Food Chain Act, livestock keepers are required to report any animal death or emergency slaughter and to present the carcass for examination.
The obligation to report suspected disease or animal mortality applies even if services are suspended due to outstanding balances owed to ATEV Zrt. and the Partner is placed on a blocklist. Service suspension or blocklist status does not exempt anyone from fulfilling the reporting and cooperation obligations prescribed by law.
In the event of a confirmed notifiable animal disease, the cost of disposing of animal carcasses shall be borne by the State, provided that the livestock keeper immediately reports the suspected disease to the authority in accordance with regulations and complies with all further prescribed measures.
We request our Partners to strictly fulfill their reporting and cooperation obligations regarding animal diseases, suspected diseases, animal mortality, or emergency slaughter without delay, as failure to comply may result in the loss of eligibility for compensation.
